Founded in 1974, SCSA has been bringing recreational soccer to boys in the southeast Cincinnati area for over 50 years. No tryouts, no experience required— just a willingness to learn and have fun. We believe soccer is one of the best ways for young people to build friendships, character, and fitness; and we've been proving it one season at a time for five decades.
Soccer at its best teaches
kids more than how to kick a ball
Our league is guided by five goals:
HAVE FUN
Every player should enjoy being out there in training and in games. Friendship and fitness follow fun.
PLAY FAIR
Good sportsmanship and respect for opponents, referees, and teammates are non-negotiable.
PLAY equally
Every player gets time on the field - at least 50% of each game! You can’t get better if you don’t play.
Develop skills
We focus on building real soccer ability, with age-appropriate instruction at every level.
LOve the game
We want players to leave each season more excited about soccer than when they started.
who we are
SCSA is a volunteer-run nonprofit that organizes recreational soccer for boys across Cincinnati's East Side and surrounding communities, including Anderson Township, Amelia, Batavia, Union Township, New Richmond, Mt. Washington, and Northern Kentucky. Games are played on Anderson Park District fields in Anderson and Union Township.
Our league is built and maintained entirely by parent volunteers who coach teams, train referees, manage player placement, and keep the fields in shape. It takes a lot of hands to run a program like this — and we're always glad to have more.
Players are placed on teams based on age and home neighborhood (we use your son's elementary school as a guide). This keeps teams local and competitive — and it means your son is likely to know some of his teammates already. We aim for evenly matched teams across the league, because fair competition is more fun and more instructive than lopsided games.
Younger players use smaller fields and simplified rules, scaling up to a full 11v11 format equivalent to high school rules for older age groups.
